Music Lessons
This page informs you of music lessons and what I specifically offer. This is a separate service from music lessons. I cannot offer both music therapy sessions and music lessons to the same person or family due to my ethical obligations as a music therapist under III.7 of the CAMT Code of Ethics.
Teaching Experience and Philosophy
I have been teaching piano for over 10 years and guitar for 1 year. I believe that everyone is musical, everyone can be a capable musician and that music should be inherently fun. I want to encourage students to love music for themselves.
In lessons, I collaborate with students to develop their' musical abilities through musical games, ear-training, sight reading, theory, improvisation and composition. The genres of music I play and teach are classical, rock, pop, and folk music. Whatever your musical goals may be, I would love to collaborate with you on your musical journey.
Education Background
In 2017 I completed her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance at the University of Lethbridge. During my time at the U of L, I studied under Glen Montgomery, Magdalena von Eccher, and Dr. Deanna Oye. Earlier this year I completed my Master's in Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University.
